Why isn’t Filipino food more popular in Australia?
Interestingly, Australians of Filipino heritage make up the fifth largest group of Australians born overseas - less than those of Chinese and Indian descent, yet more than the Vietnamese.
But unlike other Asian cuisines that have been part of the Australian landscape for decades, it is only recently that Filipino food has started gaining recognition outside immigrant communities.
The Entree.Pinays believe that Filipino cuisine and talent is still under-represented despite Australia being home to over 250,000 Filipino people of heritage. We’re working together to change this.
